School Day - Drinks and Snacks

Children will not be allowed to bring sweets into school, but may have fruit at playtime.  All children are also asked to bring in a bottle of fresh water each day in a pull up stopper bottle.  This enables children to drink throughout the day, but must be water only.

School Day - Assemblies

Monday - Whole School Assembly

Tuesday - Whole School Values Assembly

Wednesday - Open the Book Assembly

Thursday - Whole School Singing Assembly

Friday - Whole School Sharing Assembly

School Day - Term Dates and Events

A letter will be sent to parents at the beginning of each school year outlining the school holiday dates, as well as the main events for the year.  Reminders will also be sent nearer the appropriate time. See also under Documents, Term Dates.

School Day - Clubs

Children are encouraged to join a range of extra curricular activities.  Further details will be available at the beginning of terms.

School Day - Travelling to school

Children are encouraged to walk or cycle to school with an adult and wear appropriate safety gear. Children may leave bikes and scooters in the bike shelter provided on the school playground.

School Day - Car parking

If parents need to bring and collect children by car please be aware of parking restrictions. For the safety of the children arriving and leaving school, please do not stop cars on the bend near the playground gate.  The school car park is for staff only.  We have an arrangement with the HongXin Restaurant for parents to use the right hand side of their carpark at school drop off and pick up times.

School Day - Absence from school

Anyone requesting a family holiday during term time will be asked to obtain a leave of absence form from the office.. The Headteacher and Board of Trustees actively discourage holiday during term time.

If your child is ill please keep him/her at home until he/she is fully recovered.  The school has a computerised attendance system and it is essential that all absence is supported by a note or telephone call.  Any unexplained absence will be termed as ‘unauthorised’.

If your child needs to leave the school during the school hours, to visit the dentist, for example, then she/he must be collected, or a note must be sent giving your permission for the child to go home alone.  If your child is going home for lunch, just for the odd day, a note must be sent into school that morning, giving your permission.

The need for notes/phone calls for all the above situations are solely in the interests of child safety.

School Day - Dinners

A choice of hot meals (including a vegetarian option) or jacket potatoes are provided by the kitchen.  Payment for school meal choices should always made 9 days in advance via SCOpay our online payment and ordering system. A school meal currently costs £2.25 per day.  Children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are entitled to receive a free school meal under the government Universal Free School Meals Scheme.
